Devlog: First Prototype
Welcome to the How to Wizard devlog! This first post will be a quick summary of the prototypes.
The prototypes contain the first 6 levels of story mode where you unlock spell crafting components as you progress. Within these 6 levels, you'll begin your journey to a mastery of magic, unlocking 7 of the 13 spell crafting components. With these, you can cast a projectile that lights a flame to burn obstacles in your way or a projectile that can pull boxes to activate pressure plates. While these levels are a bit simple, they make up most of the tutorial, so please bear with it for now.
In the PC version, you can learn to be a magical adept, efficiently organising the spell components into place and casting spells with the precision of a mouse and trajectory visualiser. Or, in the VR version, you can take on the role of a magical beginner, crafting and casting the spells with your own hands. It's a whole new experience to actually throw the spells yourself!
With these prototypes, we aim to test the spell crafting and casting as well as how people approach the game's puzzles. Things are still a little rough around the edges, so we'd love to hear from you on how things can be improved. Feel free to leave a comment below or contact us on social media.
With that, I'll leave things here. Enjoy the mysterious ways of magic!
